Welcome to the Herne Tavern

About us

Take a look at our fabulous (if we say so ourselves) Christmas Party Menu in the drop-down menu above. We’re offering a set menu for parties at just £20 for two courses, £24 for three courses. Everything is made in-house from great ingredients by our talented chef and his hard-working team. The menu is running right through December…give us a call and we’ll get you booked in.

The Herne Tavern is a classic Victorian pub situated on Forest Hill Road in East Dulwich, right opposite the glorious green space that is Peckham Rye. An impressive 1930s interior and quite possibly the largest garden in South East London (really…it’s huge), make it a special place to visit all year round.

There are real fires and original panelling in the bar and dining area, plus a conservatory. Children are welcome in the garden and dining area until 8pm.

Four real ales are available on draught and the wine list has plenty of options by the glass. When it comes to eating, expect to find some good old classic dishes alongside more contemporary options. Nothing too fancy — we’re a pub! — but proper food made from great ingredients.

The Barn in the garden is ideal for private parties, functions and meetings. We can provide a buffet menu or more formal dining if you prefer; please give us a call to discuss your requirements

We also offer free WiFi, a quiz every Sunday night, and regular events.
